Well?

Alya Cesaire's impatient fingers tapped furiously at her phone as she paced around in her living room. 'You're making me dizzy,' her sisters complained, but she ignored them as the rolling ellipses popped up on the screen, indicating that a reply was coming.

It was great! ^_^ Alya gasped at this. Her best friend Marinette successfully got her hopes up for a full three seconds before following it up with disappointment: I couldn't do it.

Alya sighed. She wished more than anything that she could've been the one with her at the ice rink that day, instead of Luka... but maybe that wasn't fair. Maybe Alya expected too much.

It's okay, girl.

She didn't know what else to say. She set her phone down, wondering if it would help to invite Marinette over to keep her mind off things, but before she could decide, there was a reply.

I saw Kagami kiss him

"What?!" Alya exclaimed. She nearly dropped her phone, causing her sisters to surround her, chanting 'What? What? Let me see!' Alya fought them off, though, sending Marinette a bunch of question marks in response as she willed them to behave.

Are you serious??

Yeah. It was just for a sec... Luka caught me staring :(
he was the one who told me I should talk to him, so i literally chased after his car

Wow, she typed. Alya couldn't help laughing at the mental image. Yeah, that sounds like you.

Shhhh came Marinette's text back, which was probably the closest she'd come to telling Alya to shut up. She went on to describe how things went, after she managed to catch up to Adrien, which was all familiar and nothing Alya hadn't expected or heard before.

She sighed again.

What if I talk to him? She found herself offering, hitting send before she could even take it back.

What? You can't!!!

Come on. I can at least find out if they're dating.

She could practically see Marinette freeze at her screen. The ellipses came again, and Alya waited.

But if they were, he'd tell me... I think... ;__;

Considering he trusted Marinette enough to consult her about Kagami in the first place, it was probably a fair assessment. Alya rolled her eyes anyway, and her fingers danced across the screen.

You're probably right. He would be that stupid.

A sad face emoji followed. Ha! Not even Marinette could argue with that, which Alya found oddly satisfying... but she left it at that, deciding not to press the issue any further. Some time passed, her sisters fussed, and Alya walked into the kitchen with her phone. They followed her as soon as they saw she was on the move.

Never mind. Just forget adrien for now, she typed. (Of course, she made it sound easy, as someone who wasn't harboring a crush on him for literaly months.) Gonna bake something for the girls. Join me?

Yea! Totally! The expected enthusiastic response came (duh, it's Marinette), but what followed surprised her: Wouldn't want you to hurt yourself. Or burn down the apartment ;)

Rude! Alya smirked, looking almost proud, but didn't miss a beat. Get over here so I can get you back for that.

Yeah yeah.

More emojis. Alya responded in kind, just to get in the last text, before setting her phone down to get started.
